IPS South Bay

IPS South Bay aims to address community conditions that contribute to alcohol and other drug use. The program focuses its prevention efforts in Chula Vista, National City, Coronado, San Ysidro, Bonita, and other unincorporated areas in the South Bay. IPS South Bay uses IPS’s Approach to Community Transformation (ACT) Model, an upstream approach to prevention that has been applied in communities around the nation to remove systemic barriers and to advance safety, health, equity and opportunity for all. Current efforts include the program’s Envision Broadway campaign. Started in 2019, this campaign works closely with businesses, residents, and youth to reduce blight and revitalize the Chula Vista Broadway corridor. IPS South Bay is funded by the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Services.

Institute for Public Strategies

The Institute for Public Strategies (IPS) partners with communities to advance quality of life. Together, we work to transform community conditions that perpetuate inequity, poor health, and lack of opportunity to create vital, thriving, and inclusive communities. IPS implements a system-based approach, advocating for economic, social, and physical environments that support health and opportunity today, as well as tomorrow. Creating safe, secure, vibrant and healthy communities where everyone can thrive.

South Bay Youth 4 Change
